From the very beginning, we have manufactured all our conveyor belts ourselves, distinguishing ourselves as a reliable and dedicated partner for our clients. Our history is woven into everything we manufacture and is the backbone of our craftsmanship and dedication. We are proud of our past achievements. From generation to generation and from father to son, Twentebelt is a truly independent family-run company with a passion for the business.

Tradition and technological advancement

Our story begins in 1913, in the midst of the bustling industrial revolution in the Netherlands. We produced our first metal meshes that year, marking the beginning of many successful collaborations and the development of numerous innovative products.

We have been able to adapt well to the changing demands of the industry over the years. Driven by our passion for metal conveyor belts, we have always continued to innovate to serve our clients optimally.

Our conveyor belts gradually went further and further across the world. Because of the international character the company had meanwhile obtained, the Twentebelt name was chosen in 1994. We have now been operating under this name for over 30 years.

Timeline

1913
The business is founded under numerous different company names: Firma Gebr. Kooij & Co / N.V. V.I.V.A.T. / N.V. Metaaldraadweverij “Twente” (1926)

1932
The company is acquired by “Dinxperlo” and renamed to N.V. Metaalgaas Twente. The factory was located on the Tuindorpstraat in Hengelo.

1938/1939
New factory is built on Petroleumhavenstraat. (two facilities of 600 m² each)

1956 > 1972
Various expansions in capacity and size of the existing factory.

1972
Renamed from N.V. Metaalgaas Twente to B.V. Metaalgaasweverij Twente. (as one of the four operating companies of Metaalgaasweverij Dinxperlo)

1991 – New 1,300 m² production facility is built. (total floorspace: 4,900 m²)

1991 – Bakker Jr. succeeds Bakker Sr. (second generation)

1993 – Metaalgaasweverij Twente and Dinxperlo part company.

1994 – Trading name changes to Twentebelt B.V.

2000 – Production of mesh conveyor belts relocates to Poland.

2008 – Entire production operation moves to Poland.

2009 – Revolutionary TwenteFlex spiral conveyor belts are introduced.

2010 – New production facility is built in Poland. (total floorspace: 5,000 m²)

2011 – Founding of Twentinox – Architectural woven metals.

2017 – Introduction of TwenteSideFlex outside driven spiral conveyor belts.
